Hahaha…yeah, she told me it was fine XD I’ve read up through volume 17, but volume 18 isn’t out yet here so I’m waiting…

I do occasional post some pictures from volume 18, but I try to like them instead. However, the ouran movie might push that straight out the window.

The questionable word choice is the use of cellphone in the last chapter of volume 17. If you look at what the Kaoru (I believe it is him) is holding, you can see that it’s not a cell phone, but I think this is a translation error that shows that maybe the people translating for Viz have never been to Japan. To cut it short, the correct translation is about that object being a portable hair straighter and the person who translated it as such has spent quite a bit of time in Japan and was living in Japan at the time of the translation.

 Hahaha XD Ok, I suppose that makes sense…I just went and looked at my volume 17 trying to find it, and I have no clue what part you’re talking about, so then I just ended up reading the ending again, and now I’m just over here internally spazzing. I need the next one so much oh my Godddddddd

@Volume 18 - Hmm…OK, thanks. XD I’m just terrified of seeing spoilers from the end before I read it…(WHY IS IT NOT JUNE 5TH RIGHT NOW!!!)

If you were reading the scanlations of the series when it came out in Japan, the chapters would have several months of breaks between the current one out and the next one. The whole Tamaki’s family problems saga felt longer than it does in volume format.

Plus the lucky Japanese have had the volume out for a year and have gotten about three bonus chapters that are probably never going to get translated. Then there is the novels that are out in Japan. Those lucky Japanese.

 I literally just threw my hands in the air and slapped the table, getting weird looks from my friends when I read that last part. BONUS CHAPTERS?!?!?!?! AHHHHHHHH And I so knew that there were novels, but I couldn’t find anything about them anywhere on the internet, but OH MY GODDDDD. I WANT THEMMMMM SO MUCHHHH!!! AHHHHHHH

But yeah, I know, they’ve had it for so long why is America so slow at translating!!! God damnnnnn.

You could try to find the Singapour English edition of the manga.

 I think it’s the same release date as here though, plus I’d rather get the actual American copy, just cause…I can wait (I really can’t, but I’ve been doing it this long I mine as well see it through)
